Born James Dorholt in Minneapolis, Jimmy has been a fixture of the Phoenix Honky- Tonk, Blues and Rock-a-billy scene for over 20 years.

His first instrument was drums which he still plays.

Valley bands: The Varmits, The Hoo Doo Kings, The Rocket 88's, El Trio Grande, Mario Moreno's Ramblers and The Rhythm Room Allstars have all benefitted from his talents. Jimmy was inducted to the AZ Blues Hall of Fame in May of 2006.

Jimmy came up as a hell-raiser and though settled now, he brings an undeniable authenticity to this music that celebrates the demons faced by anyone who lives fast and plays hard. The inspiration for "JIMMY PINES" the solo act can be found on any old Jimmy Rodgers or Hank Williams record where just a guitar and a lone voice pine for what once was or what will never be.
